Adverbs: Just like adjectives describe nouns, adverbs describe verbs.  So if you are running slowly, you can see that “slowly” is an adverb…it describes the manner in which you are running.  If you still don’t know what an adverb is, you are reading poorly.  Here “poorly” is the adverb.
