How We Named Our Blog….

[ad name=”Adsense”]

I’m not sure if you’ve read the “Purpose of this Blog” post… If you did, you know that there really isn’t too much of a central focus to this. It is simply an experiment in two things: First, how much of the random knowledge that we come across (we being my unnamed friend and I) can be documented online and second, can small bits of information turn into larger experiences and meaningful moments. The first item is for anyone to see, the second is our personal reward.

An example of how this functions can be seen in the origin of the name of the blog, “Organized Clutter.” After deciding upon a German book to use in our delayed quest to begin speaking a second language, we began reading the front cover.  The first item we read is that over 2,000,000 books had been sold.  A simple, random, seemingly unimportant piece of information…  The following conversation preceded thusly (ok, ok, weird word…see here):

So…2,000,000 books sold, but I wonder how many have been borrowed…

True, true…so, do you think we should write a blog post on this info about number of books sold

The blog could turn into a mess if we do that

…..blah, blah….something about Bob Ross……blah, blah….The Joy of Painting (such logical connections, I know….)

Well, we could call this The Joy of…..a series of bland names follows

The blog is going to simply be Organized Clutter….let’s just call it that…

And there you have it….just one instance of how a random piece of information resulted in an even more random blog post, and a valuable life event, namely, a catchy blog title.
